Big Hunter 2.9.11

Paleo fun
I've always found farming games to be boring AF. I should make a note though. I like Agricola. Agricola is great fun. But doing circles watering plants, and then watching grass grow is not my idea of excitement, and I bet that the paleolithic human skeletons would agree with me. After all, the caves at Lascaux are much more interesting than what came later regarding descriptions of food.
Big Hunter has you re-enacting the difficult role of a tribe chieftain. The drought has killed your village's crops, and now you're tasked to feeding your tribe with the fat of the land. There aren't any other strong men with your tribe besides you, and the village consumption requirements are at about 1(one) whole mammoth per day.
Luckily, there's always one standing in front of you. So you won't have to track. Before going in for the kill, you may want to hone your skills against various mock targets to score some points. When going against the real deal, however, you will either have a limited amount of spears, or a limited amount of time to bring the beast down.
Hunting is simple in theory. You swipe down for aim and speed and then release. You should also make sure you keep at a safe distance from your meal; I mean target.
Once you've scored some kills, you will be able to purchase new and exotic thrown weaponry. Also, once you exhaust the mammoths, you will move on to megaloceroses, dodo birds, and even saber-tooth tigers. A tribe's gotta eat.
Final Thoughts
Big Hunter is a lovely crafted game. It's nothing to obsess over, but it has enough flair to make you return once in a while for seconds.
